Job Summary

Childhood Health Associates of Salem seeks to hire a full-time Medical Assistant. Our office is a growing, fast-paced pediatric clinic located in Salem, Oregon and we are looking for someone who is dedicated to the field of medicine and who has a strong interest in pediatric primary care.

The position we are looking to fill will have a minimum of 32 scheduled hours per week. Our office is open from 8:00am to 8:00pm Monday through Friday and 9:00am-2:00pm on Saturdays. Schedule availability in the evenings and on weekends is REQUIRED. We offer a competitive wage and benefits package.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma/GED required
  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program required
  • Current BLS from the American Heart Association is required
  • Prior experience as a medical assistant in a pediatric and/or primary care setting preferred
  • Current MA certification or registration is preferred but not required
  • Bilingual in any language is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with multiple providers, MAs, and RNs to provide the best care for our patients within the clinic-specific MA scope of practice
  • Abide by HIPAA standards at all times
  • Perform CLIA-waived tests following clinic standards
  • Administer and document vaccinations with proper technique for pediatric patients; memorize the standard and catch-up AAP pediatric immunization schedules
  • Obtain and document reliable vital signs measurements
  • Obtain and document relevant patient history in a professional and efficient manner
  • Administer and document various screening procedures
  • Appropriately handle, clean, and prepare instruments for sterilization
